First and foremost, as a Christian church, we hold Jesus Christ at the very centre of everything that we do. He is the reason rechurch exists, and the only hope that we have for salvation. We believe that He has always existed as part of the Trinity of God (God being three persons in one), and became fully human (while staying fully God) so that he could die on the cross, be resurrected, and ultimately purchase the forgiveness of all our sins. We like Him a lot. |

The Bible--66 books of the Old and New Testaments--is our core guide for living and understanding God. We believe that it was written by men who were divinely directed by God, so that everything in there is exactly what He wanted to say. Everything we believe about God and Christian doctrine comes from and is governed by the Bible. |

In practice, we are a Spirit-led, non-charismatic church. This means we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Triune God), but we don't believe that this requires us to exhibit the "gifts of the Holy Spirit" in the way that they were used in the 1st century church. We believe that they were used to validate and give power to the words of God, and once the Bible was completed, these validations were no longer necessary. We do believe that God can and does still perform miracles, even through people, but these powers are not given as "gifts" anymore. |
